The 6^th Annual Lund Shellfish Festival will once again be held along the shores Lund Harbour, BC, Canada. Eat fresh-cooked seafood, enjoy local musicians, take a tour, watch free cooking demonstrations, buy some live shellfish, shop at the booths, enter a contest, or sample special menu items at the restaurants - there are activities for everyone!

The Lund Shellfish Festival is a “green event” with recycling bins placed at strategic locations. This event produces no garbage.

Limited parking is available so take the bus from Powell River for only $2.00 per person. Or stay for the weekend at one of Lund’s accommodation providers.

Friday, May 24	Lund Community Hall		Chowder Challenge	6pm- 9pm Tickets MUST be purchased in advance	$15/person A community kick-off to the Shellfish Festival. Sample each of the seafood chowders and vote for your favourite, meet the locals, enjoy fresh prawns, and other treats, silent auction, cash bar, and a really great time. Everyone welcome! This event sells out every year. Call Tourism Powell River at 604-485-4701 for advance ticket sales. There will be no ticket sales at the door.

Saturday, May 25	Lund Harbour		Bunsters Tour	10am- 2pm	George’s Coastal Backroads Adventures $50.00/prsn for approximately 4 hours The area has hundreds of kilometers of old logging roads which offer mild to extreme 4-wheeling. The second growth forests, crystal lakes and spectacular views are some of the rewards of 4-wheeling here. You can experience the thrills, sites and smells of 4-wheeling in the comfort and safety of this guided tour. Meet at Nancy’s Bakery by 9:45am. To reserve, call 604-483-1855 or email George.
			Copeland Islands Zodiac Tour	10am- 10:45am	l’Hos Solutions $20 per person Departing from the Lund Hotel Dock (behind the Lund Hotel) this tour will be a taste of the full cultural tours being offered later this summer. Contact Erik at 604-414-4058 to reserve.
			Desolation Sound Lunch Cruise	10:00am – 3pm	The Agate Pass $125/prsn View the magnificent scenery and wildlife of our protected coastal waters aboard this comfortable 37ft yacht operated by Beyond The Road Adventures. 			Canoe Tour	10:30am- 11am	l’Hos Solutions Donation (suggest $10/prsn) Float around Lund Harbour in the 33ft Northern Dancer Canoe. Contact Erik or Drew at 604-414-4058 to reserve.
			Music	11am -11:30am	Centre Stage Free Start the day off with the Clansman Pipe Band in a quick march from the Mile 0 marker to Centre Stage. Enjoy many popular piping tunes, followed by a warm welcome and Festival Announcements.
			Kids’ Zone	11am – 5pm	A booth for kids. Enjoy the Kids’ Zone with your child playing Dress Up, face painting, and a sand table. Donations gratefully accepted.
			Artisan & Craft Booths	11am – 5pm	Vendor Booths Located along the harbour-front, local artists and talented crafters will display their handiwork for sale.
			Copeland Islands Zodiac Tour	11am- 11:45am	l’Hos Solutions $20 per person Departing from the Lund Hotel Dock (behind the Lund Hotel) this tour will be a taste of the full cultural tours being offered later this summer.
			Music	11:30 - 1:30pm	Marius O’Keefe-Blitz Free A local musician from south of Lund, Marius will play original, West-Coast-style arrangements on his guitar.
			Food Kiosks	12noon– 4pm	Shellfish Food Booths $5 per plate Local shellfish growers are dishing up fresh-cooked culinary delights. Enjoy a different selection of shellfish at each booth.
			Restaurant Specials	All day	Try a special seafood meal or snack at one of the restaurants in Lund.
			Live Shellfish Sales	12noon– 4pm	Shellfish Truck Local shellfish growers will be selling their fresh harvest right off the truck. Great prices!
			Harbour Kayak Tour	12noonpm - 2pm	Footprint Nature Explorations By donation (suggest $35/adult, $25/youth or child) Enjoy a guided low-tide paddle around the sheltered waters of Lund Harbour in a small group. Includes kayak, paddling gear, and a famous Nancy’s Bakery snack. Beginners welcome! Wear water-friendly footwear and meet at the boat ramp by 12:45pm. Reservations required – call 604-414-6884 or email Footprint Nature Explorations.

			Music	1:30 – 2:30pm	Music Stage Free Listen to local favourite Devon Hanley play original tunes, heart, soul, and folk.

			Oyster Shucking Contest, Local Seafood Buffet & Buddy Holly Show	6pm – 11pm	Laughing Oyster Restaurant $35.00 per person Watch local oyster farmers challenge each other in an Oyster Shucking Contest then enjoy their freshly-shucked oysters on the half-shell. Feast on the world-famous local seafood buffet which features wild sockeye salmon, crisp baked oysters, halibut & clam linguini, mussel & cod grog, and spit-fired barbecue pork. Then the toe-tapping Buddy Holly Show which will have you hopping in your seat. Reservations highly recommended. Call 604-483-9775.

			Shellfish Appy Cruise	1pm – 3pm	Pristine Charters $49.00/person Relax on this 2-hour cruise of the beautiful Copeland Islands Marine Park and savour tasty scallops and prawns served with a fresh garden salad. Reservations required. Call 604-483-1131.
			Oyster Shucking Demo	1pm- 1:30pm	Nancy’s Free Free Demonstrated by a seasoned shucker whose hand is faster than the eye, you will see lightning-fast oyster shucking techniques. Come and learn a thing or two about oysters.
			Cooking Demonstration	2pm- 2:30pm	Nancy’s Bakery Free David Bowes of the Laughing Oyster will be demonstrating his special technique for Steam Shucked Oysters. Stick around for samples.
			Music	2:00pm – 3:00pm	Centre Stage Free Local favourite Nancy Tyler is back again this year to play rockin’ folk tunes, roots, instrumentals, originals and cover tunes.
