Lund Shellfish Festival

 

May 25, 26 and 27, 2012  

 

Come to the fifth annual open air Lund Shellfish Festival held along the shores Lund Harbour.  Eat fresh cooked seafood, enjoy local musicians, take a boat or land tour, watch free cooking demonstrations, buy some fresh live shellfish, shop at the booths, enter a contest or sample special menu items at the restaurants - there are activities for everyone!.

 

The Lund Shellfish Festival is a “green” event with recycling bins placed at strategic locations. This event produces no garbage.  Take the bus to Lund from Powell River and the Westview Ferry Terminal for only $2.00 per person.  Or take advantage of the special rates offered by Lund’s accommodation providers.

A community kick-off to the Shellfish Festival.  Sample the seafood chowders and vote for your favourite, meet the locals, enjoy fresh prawns, and other treats, silent auction, cash bar, and a really great time.  Everyone welcome!  This event sells out every year.

Swan Spirit Cruises

Shellfish farmers from all regions of the province will submit their best oysters in a contest to find the Top Oyster in BC. Festival-goers will be able to sample and judge then vote for the Public's Choice.

An experienced prawn peeler will show you various ways to peel a prawn then six lucky contestants will be given a one minute to peel a bucket of prawns.  The contestant who peels the most prawns wins their prawns and bragging rights.
