SERVICES

Tiny as it is, Lund has most of the amenities you will need for your stay – food, accommodation and activities.  Check out our “Activities” links for suggestions on all the things to do here in Lund then check out our “Local Links” page for a list of most of the businesses that serve Lund and area.

Accommodation
Basically, there is a hotel, B&Bs, some cottages, a marina, and an RV park/campground with cabins.

Food
For food, there are two restaurants, one bakery, a pub and the general store which is eclectic and worth the visit even if you don’t need groceries.

Shopping
There is an artisan store, kayak rental shop, woolen sweater outlet, and an outdoor adventures office.  Again, the general store has some really interesting items and the Info Booth, which operates in the summer only, sells a few souvenir items.

Access
Highway 101, one of the longest highways in the world, is paved all 25km from Powell River to Lund.  There is a gas dock for marine vehicles but no services for land-based vehicles.  BCAA (AAA) does service the area.  A word of advice, avoid driving a motorhome down to the waterfront because it is difficult to turn around.  Park by the “Mile 0” marker and walk down the decline.

Communication
There are two pay phones in Lund and cell phone reception is best along the waterfront.  Community Access high speed public internet service is available at the hotel for a nominal fee and there is free wifi service along the harbour.  English is the main language spoken in Lund but there is a significant French Canadian community here.

Water & Sewer
The tap water is potable as Lund has its own chlorinated water system.  Lund also has its own sewage treatment system.  There is a dump station at the campground/RV park and there is a pump-out station for boats at the public wharf.

Information
Most the summers, in the old waterwheel building on the Lund Harbour boardwalk, the Lund Community Society operates a Community Info Booth.  You can get up-to-date information on facilities, activities and services from the summer students that work there.

Emergencies
Lund is serviced by the Northside Volunteer Fire Department which has a station in Lund.  In case of fire, dial 9-1-1.  In case of medical emergency, dial 9-1-1 and our First Responders will quickly act to assist until an ambulance arrives.  For all other emergencies, dial 9-1-1.
