Lund

An almost endless variety of interesting birds pass
through Lund, BC. Pictured above are
some Ruddy Turnstones resting on the breakwater at Lund Harbour. Bald eagles abound as do Oyster Catchers,
Common Golden Eyes, Mallards, Kingfishers, Hooded Mergansers, Wood Ducks,
Canada Geese, various Gulls, Blue Herons, Chickadees, and American Robins.
Common
are the Varied Thrushes, Common Ravens, Western Crows, Goshawks, Sparrows, Barn
Swallows, Northern Flickers, Spotted Towhees, Dark-Eyed Juncos, Turkey
Vultures, Harlequin Ducks, Cormorants, and Marbled Murrelets.
Also
seen occasionally are Fox Sparrows, Brown-Headed Cow Birds, MacGillivray’s
Warblers, Yellow Warblers, Yellow-Rumped Warblers, Red-Breasted Nuthatches,
Waxwings, American Pipit, Short-Eared Owl, Blue Grouse,
Seasonally,
Lund sees Stellar Jays, Rufous & Ruby-Throated Hummingbirds, Grossbeaks,
Western Tanagers, American Goldfinches, Pine Siskins, Pileated Woodpeckers, and
Warblers.
